Constitution Importance/Use:
ReplyDelete- The Constitution is very important because it is the foundation of our whole chapter. It states our purpose, member qualifications, officer duties, membership guidelines, advisor information, pillar outlines, awards, meetings, amendments etc. It is not only a great resource for us but also a guideline on procedures and rules of the organization. We can use the Constitution anytime. If we have a question or need a clarification. Or even to remind ourselves why we do some things the way we do it. We use the Constitution the most as a resource and outline.
Secretary's Important Responsibilities:
- Take minutes and attendance
- Record, document and distribute minutes
- Lead the Community Service Pillar
- Mange the Orgsync page
- Document the chapter's activites
No questions :)
The constitution is important because it gives us guidelines for every thing our chapter does. It tells us about what kind of programs we should do and when. It tells us about what officers need to do and what general members are responsible for. Overall, it's important because its a document that rarely changes that guides the group no matter how much the membership changes.
ReplyDeleteOCM's responsibilities:
• Organize and coordinate all OCM fundraisers
• Communicate with OCM
• Chair the academics committee
No questions here.
The constitution is important because it the "foundation" for UW-Stout's Chapter of NRHH. It defines the mission and goals of the chapter, sets forth how our organization runs, defines the organizational structure, defines membership, and outlines the duties and responsibilities of officers and members. This document is very helpful, especially when we may run across conflict/questions about the chapter and need something to reference back to.
ReplyDeleteChair's Responsibilities:
-Maintain order during meetings
-Team building and development of organization
-Sets and coordinates meeting time and location/communicate meeting dates and times with all members
-Complete process to become officially recognized by SSA
-Corresponding with advisor(s) and University Housing
No Questions at this point!
The constitution is important because it acts as a general guideline of how our chapter will run. It highlights the chapters values and goals, explains member expectations and executive board responsibilities, as well as outlines procedures that may be unfamiliar to some, such as the removal of officers. This document is important because it acts as a reliable source to refer back to if our chapter runs into any conflicts throughout the year.
ReplyDeleteTreasurer's Responsibilities include:
-Maintain the budget of the chapter and be able to provide information regarding it when needed (such as during weekly meetings)
-Take part in the administration of NRHH sponsored scholarships
-Act as chair of the leadership pillar
-Take money out of and put money back into the chapter's account (funding requests, reimbursements, etc)
I have one question, can you explain to me what a Distinguished Member is and what role they play in our chapter?
Thank you, and I hope you're all having a wonderful summer :)
Hey Maria, That is a great questions! A Distinguished Member is someone who is never a member of the NRHH Organization in their undergrad but who later support our organization. A few examples would be Kristi in the main office who use to be an advisor for our Org and Scott Griesbach use to be the director of housing and he and the department supported us and is considered a Distinguished Member. Hope that helps!!
DeleteApologies for this being late, it didn't post when I wrote it on my phone.
ReplyDeleteThe constitution controlls our organization. We look to it for rules and guidance. Now I will mention that lately it seems to be more guidance but we should update it this next semester. I would reccomend a subcommittee but we can talk about that later.
All the OTM coordinator responsibilities are in the constitution and I will be changing some of them to fit the current roles that the OTM coordinator does.
